SWIFT Support Program

From Frustration and Exclusion to Connection and Inclusion

Helping every child — and every classroom — succeed.

At KenCrest, we believe every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and thrive in an inclusive preschool environment. Our SWIFT Support Program partners with teachers and families to implement positive behavior strategies, strengthen social-emotional development, and create inclusive classrooms where every child feels they belong.

Together, we replace frustration with connection and exclusion with inclusion — helping children, educators, and early learning centers succeed through behavioral support, trauma-informed care, and professional development for preschool staff.

Be Part of the Change

In 2020, KenCrest launched the SWIFT Support Program, an innovative early childhood behavioral intervention designed to help children with challenging behaviors remain successfully enrolled in preschools and early learning centers. This program delivers behavioral support for children at risk of preschool expulsion, ensuring they thrive in inclusive classrooms.

KenCrest’s SWIFT Support Specialists work directly with early childhood educators to identify root causes of behavioral challenges and implement positive behavior strategies that benefit both the child and the classroom. Through hands-on coaching, collaboration, and modeling, instructors help teachers build confidence and create inclusive, supportive learning environments.

Together, families, teachers, and KenCrest specialists strengthen social-emotional development, reduce behavioral stress, and promote long-term success — in the classroom and beyond.

A recent Philadelphia survey revealed that 37% of child care programs suspended or expelled a child under age five — highlighting the urgent need for early childhood behavioral support and inclusive preschool education.

Nationally, preschoolers are expelled or suspended at three times the rate of school-aged children. Even more alarming, children with disabilities represent only 13% of preschool enrollment but account for 75% of all expulsions and suspensions.

These statistics underscore why programs like KenCrest’s SWIFT Support are essential — equipping teachers and families with positive behavior strategies, trauma-informed care, and inclusive classroom practices to keep every child learning, growing, and included.
